Judge Gtllies and Mr Speed.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Dec 20. Ono of the applications made to Judgo Gillies in the Chambers this morning was from Mr J. M. Speed, solicitor, who applied that the Registrar of the Supremo Court should be summoned to show tho cause why, in consequence of certain allegations, tho Judge should not tax a particular bi'l of costs made out by Mr Speed. His Honor denounced tho proceeding's as scandalous, and ordered tho aflidavit off the file. He hoped tho Law Society would move in tho math r. Mr Speed says his only course is to request the Minister of Justicoto grant him an enquiry into the subject.
