CRICKET.
The A section v Blenheim nr*toll was continued and concluded on Saturday, and contrary to general expectation the pot boiled over, the A’s being put in the back ground by the Blenheim team. As to the individual merita of the players, or in fact the game altogether, there is scarcely anything worthy of notice, excepting of course the batting of Shipton, who at last came off and put together 40 in his old English form. Norlhcroft played nicely for his 22, and that is about aH worthy of notice, unless it is to refer to the weak and deplorable bowling of the A’s. No less than seven men were tiled, and the analysis shows what kind of stuff was given. The bowling of the winners was decidedly better, but still simple enough for any man who could bat at a ll . The fielding taken altogether was loose ; several easy catches were messed, and many of tho players thought they were in tho football field and used their feet instead of their hands. Tho result of the match has pleased most people, and the win is decidedly popular amongst the majority of cricketers. Annexed are the scores ; BLENHEIM.—2x.i I>. u:. ,
