Education Retrenchment
per Press Association. Dunedin, Nov 17. The Committee of the Education Board brought a scheme of retrenchment to-day by which £80U() will ho saved leaving a margin over reductions proposed by tho Government. A part of tho reduction will bo by the diminished attendance, allowing of less teachers in few schools, part by percentage in reduction of 7.} of all salaries over £ 200, and a part by the reduction for cla wifi nitioii. Ihe bonus allowance to Committees will be reduced by one half and the rest of the reduction will ho in tho otlico and miscellaneous expenditure.
