Meeting of the Baptist Synod.

(Per Preea Association.) Wellington, Nov 14. The annual session of the New Zealand Baptist Synod was opened this morning, Bev P. H. Coinford (Napier), President, in the chair. Delegates from all parts of tho Colony attended. The following are the names of tho representatives of the different districts: Auckland, Pastor T. Spurgeon, Bev J. D. G’lmore (Ponsonby), Messrs B. Fry end H. S. Matthews; Wellington, Pastor H. H. Driver, Messrs 13. D. Butts and H. B. Kirk ; Oxford Terraco, Ch-.istchnrch, Bev C. Dnl .aston, Messrs T. E. Fraser and Ploldy ; Lincoln Koad, Bev A. Dewdney ; Dunedin, Bev A. North, tho Hon T. Dick and Mr J. Longworth; Caversham, Mr W. lugs ; Thames, Bev W. B. Woolley and Mr J. Benshaw; Wanganui, Mr J O. Carson ; Nelson, Bov J. Standnng, Mr UJick ; ltichmond (Nelson) ; Mr W. Hart, Ashburton ; Mr J. W. Sawle, TimaiuJ Bev. C. Brown, G-reendale ; Rev. L. Shacklefort, Invercarg :1 l; Bev J. T- Hinton. It was reported that the total membership was 2785, being an increase of 125 tor the year. 'lne number of Sunday School scholars was 4400, also an increase on the previous year. On the motion of the Bov. Mr North, seconded by Pastor Driver, it was resolved that provision be made forthwith for assisting students for the Ministry and directing their studies. A Committee will be appointed to prepare a scheme for carrying out the above resolution and submit to the assembly on the last day of the meeting. Inis evening there was a large public meeting, when the usual presidential address was delivered.
