SrDNisr, Thursday. Tne opposition in the Legislative Assembly have decided to strenously oppose the cloture.’rules to be proposed by the Government. It is officially announced that Mr M. H. Stephan has been appointed to the newly created sixth judgeship of the Supreme Court. _ Mr Foster ha 3 resigned his position as Attorney General, owing, it is stated to his not receiving the judgeship.
The Court Martial in connection with the recent collision between H.M. ships Tyne and Myrmidon concluded its sittings to-day when the court acquitted the Cup tabu, of
the Tyue of aU blame. Lieut Simpson of the Tyne is dismissed from that yesscl. Hobart, Wednesday.
The Rimutaka sailed this afternoon for New Zealand, all well. She brings 125 passengers of all classes for New Zealand ports.
