Rubina has been scratched for the Island Bay Cup. THE NAPIER RACES. Napier, Jan. 5. The Napier Park Racing Club’s Summer Meeting was largely attended. There was a gross case of pu’liug by the jockey of Catherine in the Sel'ing Scurry, for which the stewards promptly disqualified the horse and rider (Quinlivan) for ever. The chief events were as follows : Handicap Hurdles—Volcano 1, Tim 2, .Denbigh 3. Maiden PI He—General Thornton 1, Long waist 2. Steel Bone 3.
