The third of the year’s series of wool auctions closed to-day, the ton* of the market being weak. Duriog the last series 260,000 bales have disposed of and 5000 bales are beld over for next auctions. Wellington, Saturday. _ George Thomas & Co. report prices this week ns follows : —“Valuations for leading lines ef feeding grain remain unchanged, and business, owing to the closo of tho winter season’s demand, is of a retail character. We note a further decline in the price of potatoes, which are now ruling at 50s to 55s : the market is perfectly chocked with consignments, and it is almost a certainly that quotations inU3t still further reduce. Flour has steady busines at £ll for stone, and £l2 5s for roller process ; bran and pollard has fallen off in sale to a great extent and prices are easier. £5 58 for the former and £5 10s for latter being nowasked ; fowl wheat, 4s 3d to 4s 6d ; oats (feed) 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; seed do, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; feed barley, 2s 9d to 2s Ud; maize, 5s lOd to 4s; beans, scarce, 4s; peas, 4s 6d to 5s ; kidney potatoes, £5 ; onions £ll to £l2 ; oaten chaff, £4 to £4 10s , pearl barley, £l6; oatmeal, £l3. Hams and bacon, 7d ; cheese 6£d ; honey 3 J-d to 5d ; eggs, Gd to 6|d ; fresh butter, overstocked, 8d ; salt do, 3d to 7d per pound. Moderate supplies of Sydney fruit to hand realised satisfactory prices; oranges, 8s 6d to 12s; mandarins, 12s: lemons, 8s to 10s ; loquats, 9s to 10s. Poultry still remain firuf at last quoted rates, which were as follows : —Turkeys, 9s ; ducks, 4s; geese 7s ; fowls 3s 6d per pair.”
