A. AND P. QUEEN CARNIVAL Over £4OO Nett ✓ Details of the final result of the Putaruru A. and P. Society’s Queen Carnival were announced at a meeting of the general carnival committee in the W.D.F.U. rooms on Thursday evening. The president of the society, Mr. A. R. Vosper, tvho presided, congratulated the committee upon the wonderful spirit of co-operation shown. The work done to make the effort a success was well worth while and had been effective.
The gross receipts were £603 12s 2d, comprising returns from the Town Committee, £lB5 Os 7d; TirauOkoroire, £lO7 13s 9d; and Country £263 11s Bd. The latter return included sub-committee returns from Tokoroa £SO 10s 2d, Lichfield £57 Is 4d, Overdaie-Tapapa £92 11s 4d, Waotu road £ls Is lOd, Puketurua £32 ss, sundry donations. £l6 2s. The final dance realised £47 6s 2d. The Tirau-Okoroire committee retained £53 16s lid of its. total and other .. \ .... country sub-committees .retaining 50 per cent, of the collections were.Tokoroa £25 5s ld„ Lichfield £2B 10s Bd, Overdaie-Tapapa £46 5s Bd.
Exclusive of the final coronation and dance, the nett return to the society was £402 7s Bd. It was expected, that the expenses would be covered by the coronation ceremony receipts.
