VISIT TO MATAMATA The entertainment given by Vincent Ryan and Senia Chostiakoff at the community concert held in the Matamata Town Hall on Saturday night attracted a capacity house. Roth artists were in splendid form, and kept the crowded audience thoroughly amused and entertained for close on three and a-half hours. During that time the audience itself was given a chance to share actively in the fun, and with Vincent Ryan, waving the baton for community singing. As a song leader he has an infectious and energetic way with him, calculated to rouse the most passive of audiences and persuade it, however self-conscious and throaty it may feel, into at least having a try at a chorus or two. The great feature of the evening, and one that made it most enjoyable, was that the large Matamata audience was not passive; it was appreciative of the fact that it was in the presence of two very clever artists, and listened, iaughed and sung .spontaneously with them.
