100 PER CENT. PASSES
PROFICIENCY RESULTS At Matamata High School Proficiency examinations were conducted at the Matamata District High School on Wednesday, when Inspectors W. Cummings a*d A. Mills attended for this purpose. Ninety-nine pupils were examined and 100 per cent, passes were secured. Of the total of 99 candidates no less than 89 gained their proficiency certificates, and the 10 others secured competency passes. This is the last time that the proficiency examination will be held at the school as under the new regulations these examinations are being abolished.' In future candidates will be accredited on the year’s work as a whole and will not be judged solely on their answers to questions set during one day’s visit by the examining officers.
