STOCK SALES

PRICES AT MORRINSVILLE Quality Beef Scarce Dairy Herd Sells Well There was little variation in prices at the Morrinsville stock sales on Friday when a good bench of buyers competed for fair-sized yardings of all classes of stock. The auctioneers quote as follows: FARMERS’ AUCTIONEERING CO. There was a large yarding of all classes of cattle although there were very few pens of good quality beef. The majority of the cattle section comprised second quality beef and boner cows. Competition throughout was fully equal to the previous week’s and late values were maintained. A total clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. A medium yarding of sheep comprised mostly fat ewes and hoggets. Competition was keen and late rates were fully maintained. A good yarding of dairy cattle included a herd of cows on account of Mr. W. T. Patten, of Te Hoe, and there was also a medium entry of dairy heifers. Competition on the herd of cows came freely from a good bench of buyers, the whole herd changing hands at values well' up to expectations. No choice dairy heifers were yarded, the majority being backward sorts, and prices showed no alteration. For a large yarding of fat pigs competition was keen, values being firmer than at last sale.
