NEW PROFESSIONS
Women engage m many professions which the world knows little about. Here are a few examples of some new professions in the United States. They prove how ingenious and enterprising women can solve the problem of work in spite of unemployment. Then there are giyls, as for instance in Baltimore, who earn a living by wearing other women’s shoes until they have become “wearable.” The remuneration is no less than one dollar per pair, and this fee payable the moment the shoes are “worn”—when the leather is soft and pliable. Hollywood, naturally, excels and “out-does” every other city where bizarre women-\professions are concerned.
