WAIKATO “ ALL BLACK ” Presentations to J. Leeson A social evening was Held Morrinsville on Monday in honour.' of' J. Leeson, the first Morrinsville! Rugby footballer to gain a place iq the All Blacks, for the forthcoming n tour of Australia. The team sail* ■ from Wellington to-morrow. * • The hall was crowded, and there! was a most representative attend* ance of the football players and officials of the Morrinsville district* Among those present was Mrs. J. E* -Leeson, who has seldom missed seW ing games in which her son ha* 7 i played on the home ground. ' ! After the supper interval Mr. F. Thomas extended a welcome! to all present. They had ered to congratulate “Johnny” Lee 4 son on his inclusion in th 1934 All Black team. (Applause). A solid leather, travelling -bag presented to Mr. Leeson with tint, ’ best wishes of all present. ? A presentation of an initialled ' travelling rug was made to J. Xeesodf by the Morrinsville Rugby Union af the dinner given to the Thame* football team after the recent matdf for the Peace Cup. In making th* presentation, Mr. D. R. F. Campbell president of the Union, referred. tq the popularity of Morrinsville’s first representative in the All Blacks, wild had thoroughly deserved the honouV he had secured. It was an honowt also to the Morrinsville district/L A where Mr. Leeson had played aH' football since his school days . •. V
