THAMES VALLEY FIGURES. How the Thames Valley Power Board’s business has increased during the past year is shown by the following comparative figures setting forth the total load connected to the board’s mains at August 1 of this year and a year ago:—
The increase of 30 per cent, in pumping and other farm motors is attributed to the deletion of the minimum charge for such motors last year which has encouraged farmers to install motors of this type. The 22 per cent, increase in ranges has taken place since the board adopted the policy of the installation of ranges at cost price, together with the hiring of ranges at a cheap weekly rental.
