Dance.
MATAMATA OLD PUPILS. On Wednesday in the Matamata Town Hall the Matamata Old Pupils’ Association held a dance, at which about 200 dancers were present. Music was supplied by a Matamata orchestra, extras being played by Miss M. Ryan. Messrs. W. H. Oates, J. Simpson and N. Sutherland were capable M.’sC. The hall was decorated with streamers of maroon and gold (the association colours), festooned from a large central inverted beach umbrella in the same shades to the sides of the hall. At one end a good effect was achieved in the grouping of a number of tree ferns. A streamer dance added to the gaiety of the scene. A Monte Carlo waltz was won. by Miss B. Brisco and her partner. Among those present were: Misses W. Bates, deep cream crinkle satin with cape to match; M. Schwarz, ivory phantom crepe; J. Gordoft, black satin and lace; B. Turkington, ivory crinkle crepe and black and white velvet cape; J. Tong, bronze taffeta and amber beads; S. Lewis, cornflower blue georgette; L. Bryce, Dorothy pink georgette and satin; J. Connell, pink satin; G. Carter, eggshell blue embossed taffeta; C. Delaney, carnation pink georgette; M. Ryan, powder pink satin; N. Stevenson coral pink silk net and georgette; M. Leadbeater, chartreuse green lace and cape to match; I. Stanley, rose pink georgette; M. Tims,'coral pink satin; B. Brisco, powder pink satin; Margaret Schwarz, . delphinium blue crepe suede; M. Loveridge, jade green satin; A. McKean, electric blue satin; D. Gunn, flowered nin'on; E. Dobson, dahlia red lace; O’Dwyer, figured crepe soie; K. Shaw, French green satin; J. Salter, lemon taffeta; M. Laurenson, tangerine crinkle crepe and cap to match; B. Madill, ivory frilled organdie; R. Wright, lemon satin; C. Mclntyre, leaf-green satin; R. Leadbeater, flowered chiffon; B. Robertson, jade green satin.
