OBITUARY.
| MR. SELIM BECA. I The death occurred suddenly on Monday of Mr. Selim Beca, a prominent tradesman of Putaruru. Mr. Beca had complained that he had a feeling of indigestion and was eating an orange on the back verandah of his home in Kensington street, when he collapsed and expired immediately. Mr. Beca was a highly respected business man, and was of a generous nature. He was bom at Mt.‘ Lebanon, Syria, sixty-one years ago, and had resided in New Zealand just over thirty years. He was first in business in Auckland and came to Putaruru sixteen years ago, entering the soft goods trade. He leaves a widow and seven children, five sons, John, of New South Wales, Fred, George and Douglas, of Putaruru, and Albert, of Auckland, and two daughters, Mrs. Abikhair, of New South Wales, and Mavis, of Putaruru.
The funeral took place at Putaruru yesterday, a very long cortage leaving St. Paul’s Anglican Church. The service was conducted by Rev. P. Cleary.
