RAIN AT MATAMATA.
SPORTS ABANDONED. Owing to the heavy rain on Saturday afternoon all golf and basketball matches at Matamata were abandoned. The Matamata Association Football team travelled to Morrinsville to play against Morrinsville Rangers, but when the team arrived the ground was in a soft cona tion and heavy rain was falling, so the match was postponed.
Witness' admitted that Newman had stipulated he must have two hands to help him on the farm, but that he had left his eighteen-year-old son in charge when he went to hospital. Plaintiff was still under a long examination when the Magistrate interposed.
