FAREWELL BATHING PARTY.

Miss Isobel Mathieson was farewelled by some of her friends on Sunday night at a bathing party at the hot springs. There was a fair bevy leaving the post office corner in a hired bus at 7.15 p.m., but when the party arrived at the springs there were more wellwishers of the popu r lar . girl already in the baths. A bright evening was spent, the baths being at their best and the swimmers at their gayest, although everyone experienced a decided unwillingness when it was time to say good-bye to Miss Mathieson, who has always entered so wholeheartedly into the sporting life of Matamata. Miss Mathieson will be greatly missed at the tennis courts, where she was one of the best players, and also at the basketball courts, where again she ranked among the highest, being a quick player and a clever goaler.
