WARMING-UP.
On cold days the petrol consumption of your car will be found to be much higher than in the summer. The reason, ’for this is of course that the engine never warms up properly. The correct temperpature for the water in the engine is just below boiling point, and to enable this to be reached it is often necessary to blanket out a portion of the radiator, the best part of which, on a very cold day, is the lower half. When starting out in the morning it will be" found that the engine is much more efficient if it is allowed to run
for a few minutes before removing? the blankets and radiator muff. This will allow the requisite temperature to be attained more speedily than by racing the engine and -closing the [ carburettor air by choker.
