One retail trade which lias been lilt harder than most others through, the war in Europe is the sale of musical instruments. further supplies of which are almost unprocurable- Many of the best brands of pianos, harmonicas and piano-accordeans were made in Germany, and now it is impossible to obtain further supplies. Bame time ago piano-accordeoois became very popular and there was ft considerable wtmand for the instruments. There are-still stocks available in the country. but their replacement ■when exhausted will provide a problem unless some other country can produce instruments .which meet the requirements. Band instruments in bath the brass and wood-wind sections are also in short supply.
