PLUNKET SOCIETY
Tie annual, meeting of the Lake County Sub-Branch of the Blanket Society was held on Friday, May sth, at 7.30 p.m., in the Blanket room. Camp St., Mrs I. Hunter was in the chair. The annual report presented by Mrs W. A. Anderson (secretary) stated that the Society had had a very successful year. Nurse White had shown her usual diligence and dee-)) interest in her work. She had also paid regular visits to Arrowtown and the Head of Lake and given mothercraft talks to the girls of the High School, Brimary and Convent Schools. The treasurer’s statement presented by Miss L. A. White, showed ,a credit balance of £3l. Mrs Hunter, president, reviewed the year’s work and thanked the members of committee for their cooperation during the year. The resignation of Mrs Hunter, president, and Mrs Anderson, secretary, were- received with great regret. Members of committee expressed appreciation of their work for the Blanket Society. Election of officers resulted as follows: —Bresident, Mrs J. W. Miller; vice-presidents, Mrs Hunter and Mrs W. A. Anderson; lion secretary, Mrs D. K. Boyd; lion, treasurer, Miss L. A. White (re-elected); committee; Mesdames A. At ley. D. H. Cockburn, Curie, Curtis, H. Davies, J. S'. Gray. Ives, E. Ingles, Luckic, J. Scott (all re-elected). The report of the Nurse showed an increase of nearly 40 per cent of visits to rooms during the year. The total number of visits to homes and rooms was 997 as compared with 820 hast year. Arrangements for a pre-school school children’s day to be held on May 30th will be put in hand. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
