Owing to the playing ground being covered with snow all outside fixtures had to be postponed. There will be no football next Saturday in order to allow Ilugbyites to liisten-in to the first test between Xew Zealand and the Springboks at Wellington.

On a hard, dry ground on Saturday, with a still southerly blowing, the Springboks easily disposed of Welllington, the score being 29—nil. ijo far the South Africans have won all their games. Considerable interest will 1)0 centered in the first test match which will be played at Wellington on Saturday next. In the first Otago-Southland match for the Dona’d Stuart Memorial Shield, at Invercargill, on Saturday, Southland won by 11 jits to 11. The teams were well matched. At one period thescore was 1! —ll. and the final try in favour of Southland was made in the last few minutes of the game. Canterbury touring team defeated Taranaki by lb to 9. In the first match for the Seddon shield Fuller defeated West Coast by 12pts to 11.
