BOWLING.

Although the numbers of visiting bowlers are decreasing there Is' a fair percentage availing themselves of the facilities offered for games on the Park greens. The weather has been patchy and rain has made the sward heavy. However, visitors have spent many pleasant hours. PERSONAL. Air and Airs AY. Smellie, of Green Island were in Queenstown recently for a few days. Air Smellie, who is one of the Green Island Bowling Club’s skips, had several games on the local green. Air and Airs H. Smeaton of Dunedin have returned after having a holiday in Queenstown. Both members of the Kaituna club, Air and Airs Smeaton had many games on the local green. A very fine bowler, those who have played against Hughie Smeaton find he retains all his old skill. Mr and S. Lawn have returned to Dunedin. A member of the Roslyn Bowling Club, Air Lawn found the green at the Park very attractive. Another Roslyn club member and his wife, Air and Airs S. H. Mood, have been spending their annual holiday in Queenstown. Air Wood proved a very useful third for Frank Lambeth in several rink games. Air and Airs D. AI. Alitchell of Gore have been visiting Queenstown. Alartin, who is a member of the Gore Bowling efub, has been spending a part oil his holiday on the bowling green. Air and Mrs P. Macomish and Aliss Alacomish of Dunedin were in Queenstown last week. Peter Alacomish is a member of the St Kilda Bowling Club. Like nearly all the St. Kilda members, he is a keen bowler and found (he local green very attractive. Intending to stay only a day. or two at most. Air Alacomish and his family were .loath to depart at the end of a week. Air and Airs Peter Gray of Dunedin spent their holidays in Queenstown. Air Gray is one of the foundation members of the North East Valley Bowling Club. Although he has not taken an active part in the game for some years, Peter Gray was keenly interested in the new bowling green at the Park and on several mornings enjoyed a “roll-up.” Air and Airs AY. G. Cole of Dunedin were in Queenstown last week. Air Cole is a member of the Caversham Bowling Club and enjoyed a number of games on the local green. Air and Airs D. Sherrill of Dunedin took their annual holiday in Queenstown. Naturally the bowling green attracts Davie Sheriff. For many years he was a visitor during the Christmas tournament and what a host of friends lie made. He is one of the most popular bowlers who visit Queenstown.
