Review.

“The Lauder Brothers Xcw Zealand by A. A. Clapperton.

As the title proudly proclaims, this pleasant novel of no great length is not an imported article. In the environment of this favoured land, its characters move and act in ways familiar to New Zealanders. The trials of floods from quickly rising rivers, and sudden squals on Lake Wakatipu, make possible situations capable of tragic happenings, well depicted by the author. The two brothers have no moral kinship, but they share temperamentally their reactions to music and literature. It is a pleasure to welcome A. A. Clapperton amongst the growing group of New Zealand authors.
