WEDDINGS.

PATERSON—HAMILTON. A wedding of district interest took place at Tokarahi Church, North Otago, V> n Wednesday, September 9, the officiating minister being the Eev J. T. V. Steele, of Duntroon. The bride, Mrs ’Winifred Jane Hamilton, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr W. B. McCone, looked charming in a pink lace frock with large brown picture hat, and carried a bouquet of pink shaded flowers. She was attended by her sister,' Miss Ella Gibson, who wore a pretty floral silk frock in pastel shades with a black picture hat, and carried a bouquet of flowers in shades to tone with her frock. The bridegroom, Mr Ernest C. Paterson, second son of Mr E. M. Paterson, “Ayrburn,” Arrowtown, was attended by Dr. D. H. Moir.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs W. B. McCone, who, looking smart in a navy and white ensemble, with a large navy hat. and who carried a bouquet of red flowers, received the gucscs. She was assisted by Mrs D. R. Rowe, the bridegroom’s sister, \vh; wore a frock of blue floral crepe with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers. After the reception (he bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon in the south,, the bride travelling in a beige ensemble. Their future home will be at “Ayrburn,” Arrowtown.

HILL—SUMMERS. A very pretty wedding of considerable interest locally was solemnised at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Arrowtown, on Wednesday afternoon last, the contracting parties being Alice Margaret, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs George Summers, Arrowtown, and Albert Frederick, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. H. Hill, CKautau. The Rev. D. K. Boyd, assisted by the Rev. K. Tan Cameron, officiated, while Miss Edwards presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated by friends of the bride, and the ceremony was witnessed by a large number of friends and well-wishers, the church being crowded 10 the doors. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a slim-fitting frock of white crepe de chene, made with a silver lace yoke, with lace goddets, tight-fitting sleeves to the wrist with lace cull's. A dainty embroidered tulle veil (lent by a friend), finished with a band of orange blossoms, and white crepe de chene shoes, completed her toilet. She carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers and maiden hair fern. The fbrido was attended by Miss Edith Hill, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a dainty frock of pink pebbly cloque crepe, made on slim-fitting lines, buttoned at the back from neck to waist, and finished at the front with a cowl neck. She wore black velvet girdle black shoes and. a pink hat, and carried a bouquet of spfing flowers. Mr Fred, and Mr Harvey Summers (brothers of the bride) acted as best man and usher respectively. Following the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of at the Royal Oak Hotel where the guests, numbering forty, were received by the bride’s mother and bridegroom’s mother. Mrs Summers wore a frock of nigger brown morocain, trimmed with floral georgette, with brown accessories to match, w'hile Mrs Hill was attired in a wine- frock, with a navy ensemble. They both wore shoulder sprays of spring flowers. The tables were most tastefully decorated, and a beautiful wedding cake held pride of place. The customary toasts w’ere honoured, and many congratulatory telegrams read. Later in the afternoon the happy couple loft by car for the North, the bride wearing a black costume and black and white accessories.

The young couple were the recipients of many baridsomc presents, including a number of cheques. Their future home will be at Otautau.
