GOLF.
OFFICIAL CLOSE OF SEASON. The official closing day of the Wakatipu Golf Club was held last Saturday. A large attendance of members and several visitors were present. The closing day match was a mixed Canadian Foursome between teams representing President and Vice-president. The result, after several close games, was a win for the President’s side by a small margin. The ladies of the club provided a plentiful afternoon tea, which was enjoyed by members and visitors. The presentation of prizes won during the season then took place. The President, after a short speech, requested Mrs Cooke to do the honours. The Ladies’ Championship was won by Mrs G. V. Wilkinson in the ladies’ section. The men’s section has yet to be completed. xV successful day closed with Dr. Anderson (vice-president), thanking the ladies on behalf of all present for the delectable afternoon tea they had provided.
