WAKATIPU COLLIE CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of members of the 'Wakatipu Collie Club was held in the Council Chambers, Arrowtown, on Saturday evening, iOth insit. Present —Messrs D. Jardine, (president), G. Metzger, G. Jardine, W. E. Ritchie, F. Kerr, D. Jardine, jnnr., W. Henderson, G. Milne, 0. R. Scott, W. S'. Reid, S. B. Stevenson, J. Talbot, and J. W. McLean and T. D. Scott (joint secretaries).

The balance sheet showed that a profit of £3 14s 6d had. toen made on the last trials, and the club’s credit balance was now £3l Ts Id.

In moving the adoption of the balance sheet, the President said that tlhe financial position disclosed was a most agreeable surprise to him, anu was very satisfactory as compared with the result of the previous year's trials, which had showed a loss of about £2B. It was pleasing to note that there had been an increase of £0 10s in members’ subscriptions, and an increase of £6 in donations. There 'had been a big decrease in the entry money, and the incoming committee would hj ave to make an, effort to' induce more competitions to come along. The secretaries were to be complimented on the fact that there was a big reduction all round in, the expenditure. Thank® were again due to Messrs R. M. Paterson and R. Hunter for use of grounds, Mr J. W. McLean for providing the sheep for the trials; Mr W. S. Reid, for use of horses; and Mr D. H. Cockburn, !(or providing a tank. The: president also extended the Club’s best thanks to the donors of special prizes and tdophies. In conclusion, Mr Jardine thanked members for their cooperation, and said that it made the duties of president most pleasant to be associated with each keen workers.

Air W. S. Reid seconded the motion, Which was carried.

Election of Office-bearers. On the motion of Ain AlcLean, seconded by Air G. Milne, Air Jardine was unanimously re-elected president. In thanking members for re-elect-ing him, Air Jardine said that, as previously stated, he considered the office should be a rolling one, and he hoped that nest year one of the vice-presidents would accept the position. This would not mean that lie would drop out, as he would be always willing to assist in the work of the club. Dr W. A. Anderson and Air P. Reid were re-elected patrons, and Aleisisus Geo. Afetzger and R. 11. Baird vicepresidents. Air J. W. AlcLean said that he would like to be relieved of the position of -secretary, as lie. did not have the time, to devote to the duties. On the motion of the President, seconded by Air AlcLean, Air T. D. Scott was elected secretary. Air AlcLean said that Air Scott had done most of the work for the past two years, and he advised members to retain Air Scott’s- services- ’as long as possible. Air Grieve Jardine was elected assistant secretary, and Air J. W. AleLean treasurer. The following were elected a com-uiittce:—Alc-isrs W. Hen-demon. K. C Paterson, W. R. Paterson, T. O’Neill, A. Geer, W. Alilne, A. Kennedy, G. Cock-burn, W. S. Re-id, F. Kerr, W. E. Ritchie, G. Alilne, J. Cronin, R. Davidson and D. Baird. Alesisms Jas. Hansien, R. H. Baird, S. B. Stevenson, and G. Aletzger were re-appointed time-keepers, and Ales'sus C. R. Scott and H. Bos® flag site wards.

General It was decided to hold, the, annual trials on Thunsd.ay and .Friday, 11th and 15th March. Members’ tickets weno fixed at 10s, the same as last year. On the- ♦suggestion of M.r McLean, lit _ was deckled to issue donation tickets at ss. This would give l supporters of the club, who could not see their

way clear to pay.,103, an opportunity ,of giving financial assistance-. ! Mir Ritchie said that more en- , counageimeaiit should, -be given to local ' muster ens, and for that reason he - was strongly in favour of a special event for miuisiterens, within dtofined boundaries, being placed on the pro-gra-mme. If his proposal were given effect to-, he- would like to see the, local event made the Rust on the. programme. It was decided that Mr Ritchie’s jnepoiiai and the arranging of the programme -be: dealt with .alt a 'meeting to -be- held on 2nd February. Mr G. Milne intimated that he would donate a special prize, of £1 for local competitor gaining moist points at the trials.

Mr W. Henderson suggested that the yards be shifted for Huntaway event. —Consideration held over until next meeting, the yards to bo inspected in the interval. The- meeting closed with a voile of thanks to the chair.
