BASKETBALL.
Last Wednesday Rovers A played Arrowtown on the local school ground and after a fast and spectacular game emerged victorious by 7 goals to 6. Both forward thirds lost numerous chances to goal by attempting to pass too close to the goal. The centre thirds were evenly matched, while both defences played well. Mr Macdonald was referee.
Por Rovers M. Buckhara (4), L. Edwards (2) and M. Thompson (1) shot goals and for Arrow A. Fitzgerald (4) and I. Peterson (2) w T ere the goal getters. On the local Convent ground Rovers B defeated St. Joseph’s by 13 to 3 after an interesting game. For Rovers R. Hales (7), V. Roycroft (4) and M. Nelson (2) shot goals and for St. Joseph’s F. McNeill (2) andLall Mcßride (1) obtained goals.
