RUGBY FOOTBALL.
The local Seniors failed to carry out their engagement to play Arrowtown seniors on the latter's ground on Saturday last, owing to being unable to muster a team. The points for the Cup on completion of the second round were: Glenorchy C, Arrow and Queenstown 3 each. Arrow, having claimed a default from Queenstown in the third round, increases its points to 5. The points to date tin the Junior competition are Queenstown 4, Arrowtown 4. The first round in the schools 7 a-side competition will take place at Arrowtown on Saturday next. Eight teams will take part in the competition viz : Queenstown Public School (3), Queenstown Convent, Arrow Public School, Arrow Convent School, Lower Shotover and Arthurs Point, one each. The competition promises to be an exceedingly interesting one and should attract a good attendance.
