SCHOOLS’ BREAK-UP.
Gibbstou School. The presentation of prizes took place in the schoolhouse on t!ie evening of the lyth December, w hen there was a large attendance of parents and friends. Mr F. C. Ferriam, chair* man of the school committee, presented the prizes, and congratulated the teacher (Miss McLaren) on the very satisfactory result of the annual examination, remarking that the four pupils presented in Standard VI had gained their proficiency certificates. A short dance was held afterwards, the music being supplied by Misses Scott, Miller and Kinross. Mr G. Enright acted as M.C. .Refreshments were provided by the ladies. Crown Terrace. Owing to residents being busily engaged in farming operations, there was no ceremony at the break-up of the Crown Terraco school on Wednesday, I‘Jth ult. The prizes were presented by the teacher (Miss M. Smith), each pupil receiving, a prize. The school has had a successful year, the two pupils presented gaining their proficiency certificates.
