Mrs L. Curtis returned' last evening after a short stay in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs Joseph _McG conge are among our Dunedin visiters. Miss Hope Bremner, Dunedin, is the guest of her sister, Mrs F. Stoop for a few days, Mrs D, H. Ayson of Gore is visiting Queenstown. She is the guest 01 her sister, Mrs J. P. Mcßride. Mr and Mrs J. L. SaLmond of Dunedin have been spending a few days in Queenstown.

Miss Margaret Wilson of the probationary staff at the Dunedin Hospital, is spending her annual leave with her sister, Mrs W. Harper, "Eastern Terrace.

Mis T. F. Macdonald and Mrs Andrew Gilkison of liivercargil arrived last evening and are to spend a few days in Queenstown. Mrs Geo. Mackenzie of “Lake View,’' who has been spending some weeks in Wellington and Auckland, returned to Queenstown on Friday evening. Mr Hug’ll Moulder, an Imperial Government official stationed at Ocean Island, arrived here from England tast night He went across this morning' to Walter Peak Station, where he will be the guest of his sister-in-law, Mrs P. Mackenzie. Dr Robt, A. Shore, Assistant Medncai Officer of Health for Otago, and; Southland was in Queenstown during the week and by arrangement he conferred with the focal borough Gomel. at its meeting on Thursday evening. He was accompanied by Mr F. Varney, Health Inspector, Clyde. Commander Godfrey ot the HALS. Diomede, Auckland, and Mrs Godfrey spent a few days in Queenstown last Week. They left this morning for Te Anau. Both the Commander and his Wife are great walkers, and they thought nothing of 'a twentyfive mile tramp “over the hills and far away, Mr Messenger, Govt. Publicity Officer, Wellington, paid a short visit to Queenstown during the week. It was his first visit to Wakatipu, and though the weather was wet he took several walks abroad and saw much beauty in the sober livery in which Nature 1 had clad lake and mountain . Mr Messenger made copious notes and sketches during his tour or thesoutn which he intends to use in wilting up the tourist resorts of the South Island, It is his intention to pass this way again during the summer season.
