The 'Roscommon Herald,' Boyle, Ire land publishes the following obituary no. tice concerning the late Mr Francis Mon son, brother of E. Monson, of this town "Mr F. Monson, of R&tina, farmer, 56 years of age, passed away on the 21st May last from the effects of a cold contracted about three months ago. His remains were taken to the Episcopalian church, Boyle, where the burial service was conducted by the Ven. Archdeacon Wagner and the Rev. Mr Sharpe. The funeral was largely attended. The chief mourners were his son George, and his brothers-in-law, Duke and Edwd. Monson, Thomas Copley and George Lonney; his cousins, Thomas Monson, of Dungannon; George Monson, of Knockarush; Thomas Monson, of Coolnagranchy; John Monson, of Boyle; Edward Kihg, of Ratina; John King, of Ardlona; Patrick King, of Ardmoyle; Patrick Meehan, of Rathtarmon, and several others Deceased belonged to an old and respected family, who have resided in this country over two centuries. He made many friends outside of his relations and neighbours, being a noted sportsman in fishing and shooting, and his demise will be much regretted by several English gentlemen, who have frequented Lough Gara lake annually for the May fishing.
