(From Our Own Correspondent.) Dunedin this day. Towards the new Dunedin Anglican Cathedral fund £IO,OOO is in hand and £SOOO is promised in addition to the Harrop bequest. A deputation waited on the Hon. Mr Millar yesterday from the Seamen's Union asking for amendments to existing legislation. The matters submitted were held over for a few days. Sir J. G. Ward, speaking at the Labor Federation social last night, said the revenua for six months euded Sept. 30, was £4,172,794, compared with £3,798,238 for the corresponding period of last year. A public meeting at Ashburton protested against the Stipendiary Magistrate at Timaru saying from the Bench that there are probably more temptations in prohibition than in licensed districts and that there is liquor in practically every house in a no licensed district.
