TO XH& SDIXOR, L.W.Mr Sir,—Will you kindly inform me through the columns of your valuable paper as to the date of the beginning of the 20th century.—l am, etc., Non-dum.-Queeenstown; January 2 t 1900,; ' > [We hjMl thought that everyone understood that the 20th century begins on Jan. Ist, 1901. According to its law the Church begins the century on the Ist January of this year which is incorrect according to mathematical' law, because if the century began tb*iwould; have to be reckoned from a year which could only be styled 0, whereas it began with the«year >l*-thp yttr of thd birth of Christ.
