A committee meeting of the abovenamed institution wa<* held on the sth instant, when there were present Drs J. Douglas (president) ami Donaldson, Messrs H. N. Firth. L. Hotop aud J. Mehaffey Minutes of previous meeting were read and continned. Out war.) and inward correspondence, read and approved or received, was of a routine character or unimportant. It was resolved —That the annua! sale of right to net for trout in Lakes Wakatipu, Wauaka, Haves and Moke be advertised at once, t<< he sold iiy Mr O'Meara on the 12th September next. —'That the secretary of the Marine Department be written to pointing out that the proposed opening of the fishing on the Ist October throughout New Zealand was not consistent, owing to the climatic differences of vaiious p irtions of the colony and that, as regar-ls the Wakatipu. the Ist November was (juite early enough for the open season to commence.—That the Southland Society he informed (in reply) that they can procure as much ova as they require from this district, under supervision of our curator, and at their own expei.se.—That £2 worth of trees or ornamental shrubs l>e obtained from Geor«e Matthews, the selection of same to be lefc with Mr Matthews —That the secretary apply to the Otagu Society for a consignment of Loch Leven-eyed ova or fry.—That the secretary write to Messrs Scott. Stewart and Hurt re preliminary arrangements for capturing red and fallow deer "alves. —Sundry accounts, amounting to £ls 8s 2d, were brought up and passed for payment —The subcommittee appointed to revise the rules reported that it would be necessary to lodge the proposed alterations with the secretary, and that a special meeting of the committee would have to be nulled to confirm the same. It was therefore resolved—That the secretary be authorised to advertise the matter, calling a special meeting for 2nd September, 1891. The usual compliment to the chatr closed the meeting. .
