Wakatipu District Hospital.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the trnstees of the Wakatipu District Hospital was held in the Board room, Fiankton. on Saturday, there being piesent Messrs E. T. Wing (chairman), J. Black, C. C. Hoyes, J. F"X, A. P. Green. D. Manson, and F. St Oilier. The only correspondence brought up consisted of a letter from the Southland Board enclosing che me as subsidy for quarter euding 30th June; and another letter from the secretary to trustees acknowledging receipt of same. Some discussion took place wirh regard to the privileges conferred l»v subscriptions, and it was oltimatl" resolved <in the motion of Messrs Fox and St Omer That, for the future, the wives of subscribers lie admitted on their husbands'tickets at half rates; and that patients subscribing on admittance to the Hospital be allowed the benefits of subscribing members alter the first four weeks. Proposed by Mr B >yes, seconded by Ml Fox, ami carried —That the cook receive a month's notice, and that another ci'ok hj« engiged. Tenders for annual supply were then dealt with, and the following were accepted : —Medical comforts, stores and furniture (rations), flour, tea, sugar, &c.— M. J. Malwhan; miik, butter, and eg js—M. D*yer; me it —VV. G Donne; bread—G. Wood row ; Gibbston coal—M. Dw/er ; Kaitang ita and Westportcoil and hroadleaf firewood— P. Vl'Bride ; blue gum firewood—J. Keiler; kerosene, &c. —M. J. Mal'iyhau. Accounts were brought up and passed for piyment under the res leciive heads as follows :—Salaries, £37 ss; rations. £ls 6s 3d; stores and furniture Is; fuel and liyht, £l7 12s 61 ; medicine and medical comforts, £3 15s 6d ; incidental, £l3 5s 4d, Total £B7 5s 7d. The usual compliment to the chair concluded the proceedings.
