A BULL FIGHT IN PARIS

Of all the entertainments which have been provided for the Parisians with the object of procuring funds for the sufferers by tbe recent inundations in the South of France, tbe bull fights have been looked forward to as likely to prove the greatest success. From a pecuniary point of view no doubt they will, as almost all the tickets for these cruel amusements, which are to last for over a week, have already been sold. Up to the very last moment it was uncertain whether the Government would authorise the bull fighting. M. Scarrion, the Minister of the Interior in the last Cabinet, had done so, bat when M. Goblet took the portfolio of the Interior he withbrew the permission. It was only late yesterday afternoon that definite sanction of tbe Minister was given, and only then on condition that the horns of all the bulls should be tipped with copper nobs. This was done, and though the animals were not by any means fierce, the precaution was useless, for, during the entertainment, two men were knocked down by the bulls. One of them was tossed into tbe air, which made his nosebleed a little, and the other was knocked down tlat on the ground. The copper tips which were covered with indiarubber, were ,bowerer, so small that they were scarcely noticeable. The courses dc taureauc, as they took place here to-day, were not at all the same thing as the bullfighting in Spain.
