BUYING HIS OWN WOOL.

Tom Perkins, the well-known barber, tells a funny story of a little deal in wool he recently engineered. One day he was enjoying the fresh air at the park, when he noticed a pet sheep in thedeerkeep, wearing a heavy fleece. It was a warm day, and Tom pitied the animal and asked Superintendent Kreiger why he did not shear it. Kreiger said the sheep;belonged to Henry Horkheimer, but that it ought to be sheared, and if Perkins would take off its wool he could have the fleece. Perkins saw a chance for a little funny speculation, and he cut the wool off carefully and brought it to town. He took it to Horkheimer Brothers, and, approaching Henry Horkheimer, threw down the wool and said —" What will von give me for that?" "Hello, Tom !" said Horkheimer, " gone into wool now V " Yes; I'll do anything to turn an honest penny. " Mr Horkheimer felt the wool, looked at it, procounced it a rarely fine fleece indeedj weighed it, and gave Perkics 1 dollar 70 certs for the fleece. A few days afterwards he met Mr Kreiger and asked him if that sheep did not need shearing. " Oh, no, "was the response, " Tom Perkins was out there the other day, and I gave him the wool to take it off." Mr Horkheimer said that was all right. When he saw Perkins he asked if he had any more wool to sell. " iVo," said Perkins, laughing, " the next time I go out to the park I will bring you in a nice sheep at a low figure. " Wheeling Intelligencer.
