Fergus, M.H.R., and won by M Battery at the Lakes District Rifle Association meeting last November—was completed at the local butts last week, when Sergt. Gilmour proved the fortunate winner. The quarterly Government inspection parade of the M Battery and the Main School Cadets was held at the Town Hall, Queenstown, on Tuesday evening—the inspecting officer being Ma)or Gordon. There was a fair attendance of both companies, and the m*n were put through a number of movements. At the conclusion of the inspection Major Brown I who was present) presented to Battery S. M. Morgan, the handsome challenge belt won by that officer in the final contest last November, between representatives of the district companies. On Wednesday evening the quarterly parade of the Arrow Rifles and School Cadets took place at at the Drill-shed, Arrowtown, when there was a pood muster of both. The adult corps was put through some smart drill and company exercise by Sergt.-Major Scully, and was complimented on its efficiency by Major Brown, the inspecting officer.
