A CURIOUS STORY.

Vienna wa® shocked on Monday morning by the disclosure of an ugly ■caudal which promise* shortly to have a aequel. On Saturday last Dr Johatin Sigl, editor ot the Jiunic I'aterland, who last year underwent a term of eight months imprisonment for using offensive language in speaking of prince Von Bismarck, called at the police office of Leapoldstadt District to claim a girl named Anna Buchmayer, who he represented to be his house-keeper. He said that she was with a woman named Marie Hager, livinc in that quarter of the town, which statement the police found to be correct. Anna Buchmayer, a girl of Is, described as an extraordinary beauty, on being called before the Magistrate, stated that she had run away from SiglWhile he was in prison he had put her in a convent, and afterwards taken her back to his house against her The examination of Sigl corrooorated the girl's statement. The woman Hager was summoned, when Sigl promised to appear also. Just as proceedings were about to commence, the Commissary of police received a, telegram from Sigl, dated Munich, laying that Hager had been the victim of an intrigue of her sister's and the doctor's daughter, who were animated by jealousy and selfishness, in sei.diag Anna Buchmayer away from Munich. Sigl added tbat Anna Buchmayer had •been seized with violent hysterics after leaving the magistrate, and bad gone with him (Sigl) to Munich. Two physicians were attending her. and a third had been called in. The examination of Marie Hager was proceeded with. She stated that, being an intimate friend of the girl's family, she had sent her 100 florins to come to Vienna in order to escape from Sigl. The magistrate elicited from her the fact that, on returning from a recent visit to Munich, she had brought seviral of Anna Bucfcmayer's photographs with her, which the magistrateappeared to regard as a suspicious circumstance, Sigl having described Hager as disreputable. She was allowed to remain at large, on the understanding that she would not leave Vienna. The pro ceedings were postponed.
