FIRES.
chemical WORKS AT BURNSIDE. [Per Press Association*..] DUNEDIN. December 28. A fire was discovered at 1.30-3. m. in Kempthorne Prosser’s chemical works at Burnside. Firemen were dispatched from the city. Tho lire had a good hold in tho top storey of the building, used for the manufacture of manure. Tho outbreak vras confined to this building. After fighting the flainos for three hoars the firemen were successful in suppressing them, a splendid save being effected./ Fireman Charles Ingrain, of the South Dunedin sub-station, was injured on the head and face, and was Pont to tho hospital. The damage by the fire is estimated at under £IOOO.
