JAPANESE STEAMER RAIDED. Having reason to believe that undeclared opium, was on board the Japanese steamer Hakushika Mara, at present unloading coal for tho Railway Department, in Lyttelton, Customs officials and the police searched the vessel on Saturday and discovered a number of tins of opium, valued, it is stated, at £IOO. Sergeant Jackson arrested a member of the oiw, who will be brought before Mr S. E. M'Carthy.
