There has been a serious outbreak of pneumonic influenza in the Island of Nauru (says “ The Times Weekly Edition ”of October 8). Up to September s 14 seventy natiyes had died* while half of the coin” red population' of 12,000 and about thirty whites out of the white population of 100 were affected. According to the. latest information the epidemic has reached its zenith and is subsiding. A doctor and two nurses were sent from Australia to, the island, with which communication is tare and irregular.
