SEA COMMUNICATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Now that the tunnel road to Lyttelton seems to be in favour, would you kindly allow me to make a suggestion as to the best route for the purpose? I believe soundings should be taken, and if there is no impediment of rock towards Governor's Bay that should certainly be the opening for the road tunnel. A slight grade won't interfere with road traffic, and the tunnel can be shortened, and not interfere with tho confined _ space towards the mouth of the railway tunnel. And, again, if Lyttelton Harbour over wants extending, Governor's Bay would be tho ideal site and bringing it closer to Christchurch.—l am, etc., AN ADVOCATE FOR SEA CONNECTION.
