The cookery and drossmuking classes at Doylcston wero being well attondod. The woodwork class at Leeston ha.l a good roll number, end the commercial and other classes .at Leeston wero being earned on successfully. Messrs A. M'Lachlan and R. T. M'Millan, representing the Ellcsmor© Ploughing Committee, asked tho association to take ovor control of tho annual ploughing match. They suggested that tho association might t»et up a separate committeo to attend to matter in connection with the fixture. Very successful machos had been held in tho past, and it was desired that the fixture should be continued. It was re»olved that the incoming committee should be recommended to take control of tho local ploughing match. In regard to the question of truck shortage. Mr G. H. Barnott moved end tho president seconded tho following resolution, which was carried:—" That this meeting ol farmers, as representing a large and important agricultural district, rospectfully wishes to draw the attention of tho MinisLei- of Railways to the great inconvenience and loss caused through the long and continued shortage of trucks, and urges that redress should bo granted without delay." 'lho president referred to the Jubilee Show, mnd pointed out that a good deal more) monoy would be needed to carry through the coming show successfully.
