SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
/ MARSHLAND. The monthly meeting of the Marshland School Committee was held on Monday evening; present—Messrs "W. Lange, W jtis, _\ Rogal, P. Freo, Q. -Chisnall and O. flJmey. In the absence of the chairman (Mr iP. G-aode) through indisposition, Mr G. Chtsntll wa* voted to tho chair. The head teacher reported that the school had ropnened with an attendance of 92 per cent of the roll number*, that June 23 had been set |a?ide by the Hospital Board for cases that toouired dental treatment; and that a plebiscite was being taken as te whether or not the parents wore in 'favour of altering the jtime oi opening the school from 9' a.m. to 8.80 a.m. during the months of June and! jJuly. It waa resolved to apply to the Board K Education for a now fence from the pam gate northward along tho Marshland Iteadj to grant a holiday to enable the senior Scholars to visit H.M.S. Renown; to purBha.Bo material for football and hockey; and lo organise a concert for the purpose o£ augmenting the incidental fund.
