There arc no very striking movement's in the stocks and shares on the general list just now, and it may be said that the general tone of the market, for bank and insurance shares especially, is quiet but healthy. A mild flutter in Union Bank shares raised quotations from £l3 33s to £l3 18s last month. The apex of the rise was reached lost week, whon sellers were demanding £l4 and buyers were offering £l3 17a.
