MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

A meeting of tho Loyal Benevolent Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held on Monday in St Matthovv’s Schoolroom, St Albuns. N.G. Brotkor G. T. Hollsdon presided a fair attendanco. P.G. Brother A. G.jfcorward, Loyal Jubilee Lodge, find P.P.G.XL. Brother G. Green, Loyal Waimairi Lodge, were among tkoso present. Six membors wero reported on tho sick Correspondence was received . from tho North Canterbury District, enclosing tho report of tho Committeo of Management. An application for a loan was granted, and tho trustees’ action with regard to transfer was endorsed. . . Delegates’ reports wore received from tho United Friendly Societies’ Benevolent Association, the U.F.S. Dispensary and tho U.F.S. Council of Canterbury, all of which were approved; and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the delegates. Tho Noblo Grand, on behalf of the lodge, extended its congratulations to P.G. Brother A. F W James on his election as secretary of tho United Friendly Societies’ Council of Canterbury. Brother James suitably rcPl p.G. Brother C. Bond was presented with a centenary jewel, for services rendered. P.P.G.M. Brother Green made tho presentation, and Brother Bond replied. It was resolved to hold a lecture on tho emblems of the Order next lodge night. The NG. conferred the white degree on Bribers A. V. Lo Page and T. Nuraui. Tl7o visitors suitably responded to tho sentiments expressed in regard to them.
