A considerable quantity of poison had already been applied fox, and be hoped to bring about an improved condition before the end of the winter. * £ Rabbits were fairly numerous in certain properties in the Waipara district, but owners had been supplied with poison and were now at work. , Inspector Neville reported that the Cheviot district had been inspectedduring the month, and that good work is now being done by the settlers. The Upper Waiau district had also been inspected and improvements have been made on all properties with the exception of one. On the Hanmer, Culverden and Rotherham properties, poisoning operations are being carried out. The Balmoral plains country is in a very bad condition in places, and unfortunately trappers have got hold of some of it. Considerable attention will be given to this district during the coming months. Cheques were passed for payment of accounts totalling £l3B 6s.
