SUMNER BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The'third annual meoting of the Sumuer Burgesses’ Association was held in the Council Chambers on Saturday evening, vmen Mr H. Buttle, son. presided over a satisfactory attendance. , The report, which, reviewed the work of the year, and the balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance of £3 13a Gd, were adopted. It was decided to invito ’ho Mayor or Christchurch and Mr L. Birks to lecture before tho society during tho coming season. Piercy. . ■ ■ It was resolved t-o confirm tho action of tho chairman iii writing to tho Tramway Boarct expressing,'satisfaction at the running of tho express /.trams, ‘ ..... A general report on tramway matters waa given by the borough representative, who was thanked for his statement. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs B. W. Harley. H. W. Heslop and Buttle, was appointed to make inquiries with regard to the present deliveries of tho mails. Tho Holt J. Barr reported on tho milk enpply, which ho thought was now as satisfactory "as circumstances permitted. A sum of £2 2s was voted to tho Tramway Copper Trail Fund. A vote 'of thanks \va» nccorded to tho secretary and treasurer for his work'during the year.
